Hundreds of athletes across the nation descended on the muddy and very sticky course in Abbottstown today. Amongst these, were seven St. Cronans AC athletes; Kate Kennedy, James Shally, Sean Hassett, Loughlin Downes, Michael Barry, Michael Quinn and Matthew Murphy. Full results here
Kate Kennedy was the first St. Cronans AC athlete on the course and had a great start but took a fall and battled hard and finished strong only a few points short of winning medals.
James Shally was next to face the mud, and pulled out another brilliant race, from what has already been a stellar season for him. James battled hard to help Clare to a Cold County medal
Next up was Sean Hassett and Loughlin Downes in a very busy race with the U13 boys tackling the course together. Sean was in a very strong 6th position when he had breathing difficulties and had to withdraw. Loughlin worked extremely hard through a huge field to finish 15th
In the U15 boys Matthew Murphy had the race of his life and was the second Clare athlete over the line, followed by Michael Barry ploughing through the mud along with Michael Quinn
Congratulations again to our wonderful athletes on their super results.
