St Cronanโs AC had a very successful weekend in Nenagh for the U12-14 Munster Championships.
The U12 boys relay provided all the early excitement on Sunday when they grabbed victory on the home straight with a superb finishing leg by Davin Brohan. Davin would later go on to win the individual gold in the 60m sprint whilst his relay team mate James Shally won silver in the U12 Boys 600m. The other u12 relay gold medalists Sean Neville, Aidan Reynolds and Shane Fitzpatrick all competed well in their individual events with Shane agonisingly missing out on the podium for the 600m.
In the U13 age group, Loughlin Downes stormed to victory in the 600m setting a new indoor PB of 1:41.47 whilst team mates Sam Crean and Jacob Quinn were just edged out of medals in a very competitive field.
Evan McCormick backed up his 2025 All Ireland u12 victory with a fantastic performance to be crowned Munster U13 Indoor High Jump champion. On Saturday, April Flood secured bronze in the U14 Girls High Jump and can also look forward to competing in the All Ireland Indoors.
Congrats to all of our athletes who represented the club so well this weekend, with special mention to all those named below who now go on to represent the club at the All Ireland Indoor Championships which will be held over three days in Athlone on 28&29th March and 11th April.
