There were some amazing results from the Even and Uneven Age Munster Cross Country Championships in Cork and Limerick for the club. We have remarkable athletes at all age grades and they should be extremely proud of their achievements this year so far.
Our Girls U9 team are now the reigning Gold medal winning Munster Champions.
Our Boys U9, U11, U12, U13 and U14 teams are all now the reigning Gold medal winning Munster Champions.
U9 Sam, U10 Riain, U13 Oran & U15 Finn are now the individual Gold medal winning Munster Champions. They were joined on the individual medal podiums in Cork & Limerick by Lillie, Kate, Sean, Matthew, Darragh, Jonah, Dylan, Micheál, Milo, Cathal & Daithi. A number of our other athletes also won medals for Clare in these races with really impressive displays of running in very muddy conditions.
There were also some other outstanding performances from our athletes that may not have resulted in individual medals but the strength and toughness shown and the progress these athletes are making is very evident and they all contributed to the team. There will surely be opportunities for these athletes to progress further if they continue to train as hard as they have so far this season. As they say ‘I ndiaidh na chéile a thógtar na caisleáin’.
Our qualified athletes from U11 up will now go on to represent the club at the All-Ireland National Cross Country championships in Donegal & Cork.
