St. Cronans AC Cross Country athletes continue their spectacular form to round off the XC season in Navan taking home 24 All-Ireland medals.
Our athletes showed they can compete with the very best in Ireland on another fantastic day of racing for the club in Navan. It was a hugely enjoyable day with a very well laid out course and some beautiful sunshine, despite the cold, once the races commenced. All our athletes have put in such great work in recent weeks and worked really hard as a team. To see the younger and older athletes support and encourage each other made the coaches very proud.
The U11 girls were the first race of the day and had the experience of their lives along with another 190 athletes. All of these girls were running in their first All-Ireland XC and put in strong performances, showing they have the ability to run against the other top girls teams in Ireland.

In the U11 boys Ríain Duignan claimed his first National title 🥇winning in great style and demonstrated tremendous stamina. He was followed home by Sean Hassett who finished in a very strong 12th. It is a fantastic achievement to have 2 under 11 boys on the podium as the strongest runners in the 32 counties for their ages. The club won silver medals and also on the club team were Sam Crean, Micheál Ruane, Jacob Quinn and Hugh Garvey. The boys also assisted Clare in getting 3rd county and Munster getting 1st region.
The U13 boys were led home by Jonah Quinn in 6th place followed by Matthew Murphy, Michael Barry, Darragh McMahon, Michéal O'Leary and Max Garvey with the club winning silver medals and some of the boys also scoring on the county and province teams.
Zoe Quinn competed in the girls U15 race and was on the Clare team that finished 4th.
Daithi O'Leary had the race of his life finishing 11th and helping Munster to gold.

This amounted to a huge total of 24 medals from our 20 competing athletes.
Sincere thanks to our great team of coaches, supportive parents and our tremendous athletes who are great ambassadors for our club, county and province.
Well done St. Cronans!!!
