In temperatures hitting highs of -2C 🌡️🧊🧊🧊some of our toughest athletes braved a really tricky course in Clarecastle yesterday for the Munster B championships. This is a competition for athletes that may have missed the other Munster competitions or that may have competed in them but may not have won a medal. It was also fantastic to see many of our newer athletes as well as those returning from illness and injury compete at a Munster level.

This was a really successful competition for the club with quite a number of our athletes on the podium and many others having PB's and finishing really strongly.
Our U9 Girls secured a silver team medal with some of the girls also on the Clare team that won Gold. Ciara was the overall Gold medal individual winner 🏅with an absolutely brilliant run.
Our U9 Boys won a bronze medal with, again, some of the boys also on the Clare team that won Gold🏅. Micheál had a fantastic run coming back from injury to take 4th individually.
Our U11 Girls were represented by Kate, who had a great run, and was on the Clare team that won Silver🥈.
Our U11 Boys were really unlucky to be pipped for a bronze and took 4th. Clare took a team Gold in this competition and Michael, who was on the Clare team, performed in style to take 2nd individually🥈.
Our U13 boys had a number of new club members and still managed to take overall team Silver🥈. 2 of our new athletes were also on the Clare team that won Silver and Sean, in his first outing for the club, won an individual medal
Caoimhe represented our U15 Girls and had a great run and was just pipped for an individual medal but secured a silver 🥈 medal as part of the Clare team.
Conor ran in in the U15 Boys race and positioned himself at the front for most of the race. He followed up his very strong show at the Munster race in Riverstick with an excellent 6th place individually.

It is evident a lot of these athletes and not just the ones that secured medals will have many more great runs to come for the club and they should be so proud of the effort they put in and energy expended to compete to the very end. Well done all.
Some of these athletes will now go on to compete for the club in the All-Ireland B championships in Gowran, Kilkenny in February.
