A brilliant day of running by our relay teams on Saturday led to multiple Munster medal success for our athletes. We had some great teams entered for this competition in Nenagh that brought the very best of young Munster sprinting talent together.
This athletic competition relies on teamwork, technique and, above all, trust in your teammates to ensure the handover of the baton is as smooth as possible whilst travelling at top speed. There are always some slight mishaps which makes the event so exciting to watch.

As well as our teams achieving medal success we had a good few athletes gaining their first experience of the Nenagh indoor track, which will set them up nicely for future competitions for the club. Some of our teams, despite not winning a medal, performed exceptionally well and have now shown that they are seriously competitive in their age grades. Well done! Results here
Medals went to;
Boys U9 - 3rd
Girls U10 - 2nd (5/100s of a sec off first!)
Boys U10 - 3rd
Boys U11 - 2nd
Boys U12 - 2nd
The U12 boys team will now go on to represent the club at the National competition. Our younger teams look like they will be following closely behind in the years ahead.
Darragh made a very welcome return to competition yesterday for the club after a break. In the U17 High Jump he claimed gold with a massive jump of 1m 70 (almost 5ft 6inches) - imagine jumping off the ground and getting your entire body over that height! He then went on to also take gold in the triple jump, setting a new Munster record in the process. A brilliant performance and great to see him back competing for the club.

Emily continued her run of success in the U19 competitions, taking a bronze in the Shot Put. That makes it 3 Munster qualifications for Emily in the space of a week. She is a great competitior and has a range of competitions at nationals to now prepare for. Best of luck!

In other news, Daithi continued his long(er)-distance running success setting a new age record (results here) at the Lees Road Parkrun as he continues to prepare for the national schools competition in Waterford. Well done Daithi!
